![]() ![]() Too bad the stock pups are gone, but I'll manage. PS: In the refurbishing process I swapped the DiMarzios I equipped with in the mid eighties (the only right thing to do back then) with a pair og Whiskerbuckers from CreamT (BFG Miss Pearly Gates spec pups) and it sounds fantastic. But I have to admit that this might not be the case when I tried to decode the serial # (068117) - Is it a '78 (third digit "8") manufactured in June ( first two digits "06 ") or is it manufactured in 1980 (first digit "0")? If it's an '80 I have to rethink parts of my youthĪnyone to the rescue? Do I have to rethink my youth? I'm pretty sure I bought this guitar when I was 12, which means it was bought in 1979. The last 15 years or so I have cared for it and kept it clean, with fresh strings and I have played it regularly. This was glued in the mid 80's with some "super resin" and is still holding together. It has "been there, done that" and lived a hard life in my teens, with a broken neck as a result. ![]()
